Why Steal Away

From the ground,
from the woods,
from the river,
from the sea,
we fill our bellies,
and we teach our babies
to do the same.

For sharp eyes,
for strong backs,
for sure feet,
for soiled hands,
we give thanks,
and we teach our babies
to do the same.

  1. Ditto! I love your life! Wish I knew how to live this way 50 years ago myself! You are blessed!

  2. Absolutely!!!! Living a simple and honest life with food to match raises up the strongest kiddos on both the inside and out!!! Thank you for sharing here, and for stopping by our happy little homestead over at stand upon grace. I look forward to following along with your journey! Swing by the homestead anytime for a visit, you are most welcome there.
Have a beautiful and blessed day~ Wendy

  3. I was taught by my parents and grandparents. I will be forever grateful for this country life I enjoy. We grow most of what we eat and do a bunch of our work with draft horses. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The best part of all is seeing my children passing this way of life on to my grandchildren. You are doing a noble thing and I know it comes from pure love. Stay the course!
